Ant Control

Ants are one of the most common annoying pests in Texas, especially in the warmer months. They show up in huge numbers, attacking any crumbs left lying around, and make ugly mounds in your yard. Although some might appear harmless they can cause property damage and some can cause lasting damage to your skin and overall health if the bites are not properly cared for.

Why Are Ants Such an Issue in North Texas?

Although ants are relatively small they pose a huge problem due to how rapidly they can spread. It's essential that you understand the importance of completely eliminating ants from your property.

In North Texas there are several varieties of ants. These include Fire Ants, which inflict painful stings; Carpenter Ants, which can cause damage to your home by chewing on wood; and Odorous House Ants, which release a foul smell when crushed. Each type of ant comes with unique problems and complications.

Here are some reasons why ants are problematic to home owners:

  • Large Colonies: Even seeing one ant is cause for concern because they live in colonies that can house millions of individual ants. This makes it difficult because once they infest one area they can spread quickly making it more difficult to control them.

  • Food Contamination: Ants will eat almost anything they can get into, making your kitchen and pantry prime targets. They can carry diseases which can spread to you and your family and make your food inedible.

  • Property Damage: The notorious Carpenter Ants can chew through wood and cause structural damage to your home. The repairs can be costly and cause safety issues if left untreated.

  • Bites and Stings: Fire Ants can cause painful bites by injecting venom into your skin causing itchiness and irritation.
